Last updated: June 5, 2020

Description:

The spatial search feature allows you to search MapGeo by drawing polygons on the map instead of requiring a field to search on.

Process:

  • Go to the Search tab in the upper right hand corner of the site.

  • Next to the “Spatial Filters” section, select the “Add” button.

  • Select the shape you would like to use for the search. Polygon allows you to create a free-hand shape.

  • Add your shape to the map.

  • Click the “Refine Search” button in the Search panel on the right side of the screen.

  • Your results will populate in a list in the right hand panel.

Helpful Hints

  • You can create a spatial search and refine the search further by looking for specific attributes like names or streets in the search area by adding additional fields to the search.
